Welcome to the Law on Wages Blog. We invite you to view the information and resources provided on this site. We hope that you find it helpful to you and/or at least interesting. If you have questions concerning the postings or about an employment law situation you are welcome to contact us. The Law on Wages Blog: Notes on Wage and Overtime Law was developed by Kim L. Anglin, a California attorney and founding principal of the Anglin Law Group, a California law firm.
Mission Statement
1. The Law on Wages Blog provides information to workers about their employment rights under both California State law and Federal law. We represent employees throughout California. We are proud of our State-wide practice that helps employees from all walks of life and in all industries.
We represent employees exclusively – not employers – in wage and hour class actions and wage and hour cases based on either a single individual or a small group of individuals. Wage and hour cases involve cases where an employer has failed to pay wages or overtime pay. Or, perhaps they have failed to pay due and owing vacation pay or to provide meal and rest breaks or provide for reimbursement for employee expenses or have improperly deducted wages from commission pay. Our firm’s law practice encompasses cases where employees have been incorrectly misclassified as exempt from overtime pay or where they have not been reimbursed for expenses paid by an employee on behalf of their employer. Another key area of our practice involves representing employees who have not been paid for hours that they worked off the clock.
The Anglin Law Group has been successful in numerous class action cases as well as individual cases. We are proud to represent employees in their quest to enforce their rights under California and Federal law. 2. The second goal for the Law on Wages Blog is to provide information to a wider reading audience on topics that are intimately connected with the bigger picture of protecting the environment and the interconnection between the environment and the economy. We also provide our broader audience with information on human rights issues as well as poverty, development, child labor, education and worker safety not just in the United States and Europe but also in developing countries. We consider this broader approach an important one and something that can impact people’s lives in a more general sense to provide all people with a better life.
